What we choose not to build
Our product decisions are as deliberate as our features. AssetAI does not bolt on a permit-to-work system with issue/close workflows and expiry tracking — hazardous work is instead handled through a Safety Measure master list mapped per asset and printed on the job sheet, which is enough for most plants without turning every breakdown into a paperwork exercise. We haven't wrapped the platform in [VERIFY: ISO or factory-act compliance certifications] claims we can't stand behind, and we don't publish customer counts or outcome percentages to make a homepage look busier than the product is. How the platform is put together
The engineering choices behind AssetAI come from plant realities, not a generic feature checklist:
- Multi-tenancy is structural, not cosmetic. Every record carries a company reference, a global query scope rewrites lookups to that company automatically, and only super admins can step outside it — the mechanism that lets one platform serve many plants without data bleeding between them.
- The location tree matches a real plant. Plant, area, line, functional location — a fixed four-level hierarchy, auto-coded, with every asset and work order hanging off it. Not a flat asset list dressed up as a hierarchy.
- Service calls know their coverage state. Raising a call auto-stamps warranty, AMC, or paid status from a fixed precedence and pre-fills the vendor from the asset's AMC record, so nobody's digging through a folder mid-breakdown.
- RRR scoring shows its work. Repair, Review, or Replace guidance per asset is computed from work-order cost against purchase cost, 12-month failure trend, downtime cost, age and warranty state — and the reasoning is shown as readable lines, not a single opaque score.
- Scheduling covers six maintenance types from one form — preventive, usage/meter, predictive/condition, calibration, statutory inspection, lubrication — with a daily job at 06:00 generating due work orders across every tenant automatically.
This is also the technical backbone for ideas like OEE and broader TPM practice: you can't manage what you can't attach a cost and a cause to, and that's what the work-order and closure rules are built to guarantee.

AssetAI exists because Indian plants run maintenance differently from how most CMMS products assume — multiple shifts, operators who aren't going to log into a desktop app mid-breakdown, and a maintenance head who needs spares, AMC and approvals in the same place as the breakdown log, not spread across a spreadsheet and a ticketing tool bolted on top.
